Finally figured out the eyes after a couple boat rides. Nick and I started out fishing the Tibb and found fish to be holding tight to shore. The new Terrova Autopilot worked great dodging tree branches.
Caught 3 eyes and a redhorse sucker, one sub legal. Then decided to take off to find another spot. Found some slack water that was holding hundreds(?) of spawning eyes - males and females. Dropped the anchor and took turns netting fish after a 3' cast. Caught fish about every other cast
Nick the "walleyeguy" AKA jigmaster
Finally got some good slime on the boat
Now, time to fillet some eyes I'm guessing the tibb will be blown out tomorrow...we'll see. Some would say that it was unfishable today. Adapt and move on. |

Good job Jeff. I heard through the grapevine the walleye spawn push started yesterday on the Tibb. Tomarrow would be a tester if the river isn't blown out of it's banks tonight. |

For sure - may have to go to Cass on Wed. But I plan on fishing all day - weather is gonna be great. No wind...may have to catch a 4 man limit of eyes and then hit the hot-ponds for some combat fishing for carp/sheeps and cats |

| Thanks for the report. I almost hit that very Gordonville eddy myself today but decided to head downstream for a larger area of fiahable water. Real interested in how you fellas do tomorrow if all the rivers go to hell I will either be there or a zilwaukee area eddy trying one last time for a wallhanger Wednesday at daybreak. Tib is now running at a higher flow than the sag....how is that even possible lol? |

The Sag is Bigger/Deeper/Wider. Flow rates naturally decrease/slow down when spread out and flowing through a Bigger hose. But in essence because of the bigger area, the true flow volumn is more.

One thing about right now is the "quality" of fishing is enhanced by the sheer "quantity" of fish in the system. The fishing Conditions can make a big difference in success when there are only a few fish in the Olympic pool. But put 20,000 fish in that same pool and your odds of catching a few go way up. I'd stick to the same plan and program as you did yesterday Jeff. I remember coming in 10th place one year in the Freeland tournament with over 400 entries, when the water was at the top of the Gordonville parking lot. I fished right on top of that (then flooded) gravel road in 2 FOW, where the #7 gate and road come down near the river above the Trussel bridge. They were laying right on that road like cord wood.
PS. Jeff, just noticed in your pictures that your registration on the new boat is about to expired. Don't change that luck you just started with a ticket on the new boat. |

The river only came up 5 feet since yesterday. Jeff should be able to limit out in half the time. |

Yup, those mid-parking lot launches can be tricky and often wet. |

| So I'm guessing the Saginaw River would be a waste of time tomorrow? Now that I am unemployed and finally able to get out after some walleye, the river explodes and the season closes - go figure. |

That's where I was confused, I know its not possible I just didn't know if it was an error in how they interpret the gauge info or a formula error. Thanks |
