Just 15 more new members to our board and we will have 1,000 members. That of course is small potatoes when compared to some of the other boards who do not screen members applications before admitting them and display multiple advertisements all over their boards to pay for their Internet site space and time. Of course they also discriminate when you post/talk about other items besides those they advertise for. Pretty much censoring and making that forum and some of the information you get from it bogus or incomplete IMHO.
But I like to think our members are a unique breed when compared to these other boards. Or at least if and when belonging to other boards, our members act very different when both sharing and interacting on this one it seems. Some of course do not interact here or there. But I've also noticed that many of the newer members joining recently comment on lurking here for a long time and are now joining in because they want to give back and share freely some fishing info with others who do like wise.
I thought about putting a 1,000 member limit on our membership. I have in the past worried about loosing control or having so many posts to look at daily, that I/we loose the time to screen for any misbehaving's. But I guess as long as we keep each other in line, I'll let the membership grow and expand.
